I just turned 21 recently. I’ve always felt so much older and get surprised when people tell me I’m still young. Maybe it’s the people I’ve surrounded myself with. Thought about wanting to be an artist or animator or manga creator. I really do want to be as good as the people I look up to and I will achieve this goal at all costs.

It may be an unorthodox approach, but the way I decided to achieve my goal is to serve my country for 5 years and then decide my next steps based on the options I have then. The tight schedule and restrictive environment may help me build some discipline. I can then study some drawing in my downtime, maybe work on Travis Tower.

One of my dreams was to study at the KyoAni University so I was also thinking that I could learn Japanese by the time I’m done serving and get my tuition paid for. But at the same time… I hated the whole university environment when I went through computer science. Maybe in 5 years my self studying will be good enough and I won’t need to go back to University. We’ll see. Either way, the benefits of taking this path appeal to me as long as I get paid and have time to study. I hope I can meet my goals. If I do, I also hope it could inspire others.

Here is a picture I drew before my birthday. I like to draw my OC’s; any other artist would probably say the same. I’m not planning on ditching this website. I still want to show my progress/journey.
